How Our Online Waist Alteration Works
We have designed our booking process to ensure your tailor knows exactly how much to adjust before you even go to the post office.
- Select Your Fabric: Click the button below to start. Choose your Fabric Type (select “Standard” for suit trousers/chinos, or “Denim” for jeans).
- Choose Your Service & Measurement: Select either “Take in waist” or “Let out waist”. Then, tell us how you are measuring (e.g., exact measurements like “take in by 2 inches”, or tell us you have pinned the garment).
- Add Details & Photos: Add any extra notes in the Alteration Details box, then upload up to 3 clear photos (front, back, and a close-up of the waistband).
- Ship & Relax: Check out securely, post your Tailoring Item to your matched professional, and we will return your perfectly fitted garment directly to your door.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you take in the waist on jeans?
Absolutely. Denim requires heavy-duty machinery and specific tailoring techniques. During step one of our checkout process, simply select “Denim (Jeans)” as your Fabric Type, and we will match you with a professional tailor equipped for the job.
How do I measure how much to take in or let out?
You have three easy options in our booking builder. If you know the exact measurement (e.g., “take in 4 cm”), you can type it in. Alternatively, you can pinch and pin the excess fabric at the back of the waistband and select “I’ve pinned or chalked the mark.” You can even send a perfectly fitting pair of trousers alongside your order as a reference garment!
Why do I need to send photos of the waistband?
Uploading up to 3 photos helps your assigned tailor see how the waistband is constructed (e.g., if there is a center back seam that can be easily opened to let the waist out). This ensures a high-quality finish and a smooth process.
