How Our Online Tapering Service Works

We have designed our booking process to ensure your tailor knows exactly how slim you want the legs before you even go to the post office.

  1. Select Your Fabric: Click the button below to start. Choose your Fabric Type (select “Standard” for suit trousers/chinos, or “Denim” for jeans).
  2. Choose Your Service & Measurement: Select “Taper legs” from the Service Type menu. Then, choose your Measurement Method. You can provide exact measurements, tell us you have pinned the new seam line, or choose to mail in a perfectly fitting pair of reference trousers alongside your order.
  3. Add Details & Photos: Add any extra notes in the Alteration Details box (e.g., “taper from the knee down”), then upload up to 3 clear photos of your item (front, back, and a close-up of the leg).
  4. Ship & Relax: Check out securely, post your Tailoring Item to your matched professional, and we will return your perfectly fitted trousers directly to your door.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I pin my trousers for tapering?

Put the trousers on inside out. Pinch the excess fabric along either the inside or outside seam (depending on the garment style) until you reach your desired fit, and carefully secure it with safety pins all the way down the leg. When booking, simply select “I’ve pinned or chalked the mark” in our builder.

Can you taper heavy denim jeans?

Yes! Denim requires heavy-duty machinery to alter the seams correctly. During step one of our checkout process, simply select “Denim (Jeans)” as your Fabric Type, and we will match your tailoring item with a professional tailor equipped to handle heavy fabrics.

Why do I need to send photos of the trousers?

Trousers are constructed differently; some have flat-felled seams while others have standard pressed seams. Uploading up to 3 photos helps your assigned tailor see the construction of the leg, ensuring they can replicate the original factory finish when tapering.
