1. Definitions
For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
1.1 “iSeam.uk”
Refers to the digital platform owned and operated by iSeam.uk, providing online tailoring, alterations, and repair service facilitation between Customers and Tailors.
1.2 “Tailor” or “Service Provider”
Any individual or business registered on iSeam.uk to perform tailoring, alteration, or repair services for garments or household items submitted by Customers.
1.3 “Customer”
A person or entity placing an order on iSeam.uk for tailoring, mending, or related services.
1.4 “Tailoring Item”
Any garment, accessory, or household textile (e.g. curtains, cushions, pet clothing) submitted by a Customer for tailoring or repair via the iSeam.uk platform.
1.5 “Order”
A request initiated by a Customer for a specific tailoring or repair service, placed through the iSeam.uk website or mobile application.
1.6 “Job”
The set of responsibilities assigned to a Tailor upon accepting an Order, including garment receipt, alteration or repair, and return.
1.7 “Commission”
A percentage fee retained by iSeam.uk from each completed Order, with the remaining amount paid to the Tailor.
1.8 “Payout”
The net amount paid to the Tailor for a completed Job, after commission, deductions, and any applicable adjustments.
1.9 “Platform Account”
A registered user profile created by the Tailor to manage orders, track payments, update availability, and receive communications.
1.10 “Dispute”
A formal complaint raised by either the Customer or the Tailor regarding the fulfilment, quality, or delivery of services for an Order.
1.11 “Return”
The process of sending the Tailoring Item back to the Customer, whether the service was completed or not.
1.12 “Job Failure”
A condition where the tailoring task could not be completed, due either to customer-related issues (e.g., missing items, unrealistic requests) or tailor-related constraints (e.g., illness, lack of tools).
2. Tailor Eligibility & Registration
2.1 Eligibility Criteria
To join iSeam.uk as a Tailor, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the legal right to work as a self-employed individual or business in your operating country
- Possess the skills, tools, and environment required to perform garment alterations and repairs professionally
- Agree to comply with applicable local and national regulations, including those related to health and safety, taxes, and trade laws
2.2 Types of Tailors Allowed
iSeam.uk welcomes:
- Professional tailoring businesses
- Freelancers and self-employed seamstresses
- Home-based service providers
- Workshops or alteration hubs
- Specialised service providers (e.g. bridal, vintage, home textiles, pet garments)
2.3 Registration Process
To become an approved Tailor, you must:
- Complete the registration form on iSeam.uk
- Provide accurate contact information, banking details for payouts, and a service profile
- Submit any requested certifications, ID, or sample work if required for verification
- Agree to iSeam.uk’s Code of Conduct, Service Standards, and these Terms
2.4 Tailor Profile
Upon approval, each Tailor receives a dashboard to:
- View and claim new jobs
- Track active orders and messages
- Update pricing, turnaround times, and service areas
- Upload photos, credentials, or work samples
- Monitor earnings and commission statements
2.5 Account Responsibility
Tailors are responsible for:
- Keeping login credentials secure
- Ensuring their service profile and availability are up to date
- Maintaining timely communication with iSeam.uk and Customers
- Only accepting jobs they are capable of completing to the required standard
2.6 Account Rejection or Suspension
iSeam.uk reserves the right to:
- Decline applications at its sole discretion
- Suspend or terminate Tailor accounts if false information is provided, service quality is poor, or platform policies are breached
3. Job Acceptance & Responsibilities
3.1 Job Notification System
When a new order is placed by a Customer, all eligible Tailors are notified. Jobs are made available on a first-come, first-served basis.
3.2 Accepting a Job
By accepting a job, you agree to:
- Complete the tailoring service described in the order
- Meet the stated turnaround time and delivery expectations
- Maintain open communication with iSeam.uk and the Customer, if required
- Handle the Tailoring Item with care and professionalism
3.3 Item Delivery to Tailor
Once a job is accepted:
- The Customer is notified to ship or drop off the Tailoring Item to your registered address
- You must confirm receipt of the item via your dashboard immediately upon receiving it
- If the item is not received within a reasonable time, you must inform iSeam.uk for appropriate follow-up
3.4 Performing the Work
You are expected to:
- Begin work promptly upon receipt of the item
- Complete the requested service to a professional standard
- Avoid damage, stains, or any actions that reduce the item’s value
- Use your own tools and workspace; iSeam.uk does not provide materials or equipment
3.5 Communication with Customers
Tailors may contact Customers only via the platform’s messaging tools unless explicitly permitted by iSeam.uk.
3.6 Updating Job Status
Tailors must update the job status for each of the following steps:
- Item received
- Work started
- Work completed
- Item shipped back to customer (including courier and tracking information)
3.7 Inability to Complete a Job
If you cannot complete a job due to any issue:
- You must update the status to “Tailoring Not Completed – Tailor Issue” or “Tailoring Not Completed – Customer Issue”
- Provide a clear reason and upload evidence (if required)
- Depending on the cause, you may be required to return the item at your own cost
3.8 Ownership of Items
Tailoring Items always remain the property of the Customer. You may not retain, alter beyond agreement, or dispose of any item without written consent from iSeam.uk.
3.9 Subcontracting
Subcontracting any job to a third party is prohibited unless explicitly approved by iSeam.uk.
4. Shipping & Item Handling
4.1 Delivery to Tailor (Inbound Shipping)
- After a job is accepted, the Customer is responsible for sending the Tailoring Item to your registered address.
- Tailors must confirm receipt of the item through the platform immediately upon delivery.
- If an item is not received within a reasonable time, Tailors must report the delay via the platform.
- Items should never be refused at delivery unless they appear dangerously damaged or unauthorised.
4.2 Storage and Protection of Tailoring Items
- Tailors must store all Tailoring Items in a secure, clean, and dry environment.
- Items must not be exposed to pets, smoke, moisture, or any unsanitary conditions.
- Tailors are fully responsible for safeguarding the Customer’s property during the period of work.
4.3 Return Delivery to Customer (Outbound Shipping)
- Once the job is completed or declared incomplete, Tailors must prepare the item for return in appropriate packaging.
- Items must be returned using a registered and trackable shipping method, with tracking information entered into the platform.
- Tailors may either:
- Use their own shipping account and be reimbursed (if pre-approved), or
- Use shipping labels provided by iSeam.uk (where applicable)
4.4 Shipping Timeframes
- Items must be dispatched within 24–48 hours after the job is marked as “completed” or “not completed.”
- Delays must be reported immediately and may affect your standing on the platform.
4.5 Lost or Damaged Shipments
- Tailors are responsible for any item damaged or lost while in their possession.
- Once dispatched via tracked courier, liability transfers according to carrier terms; however, Tailors are advised to retain proof of postage and tracking.
- iSeam.uk may require reimbursement for loss or damage resulting from Tailor negligence.
4.6 Alternative Delivery Methods
- For local customers, in-person drop-off or pick-up may be arranged where agreed and permitted by iSeam.uk.
- Tailors are responsible for ensuring that any such alternative arrangements are recorded and verifiable.
5. Service Standards & Quality Assurance
5.1 Minimum Quality Requirements
All Tailors must perform services to a professional and reliable standard. This includes:
- Clean and precise stitching
- Accurate measurements and adjustments
- Appropriate finishing and pressing
- Matching thread colours and materials where applicable
- No stains, odours, or damage introduced during the alteration process
5.2 Timeliness & Turnaround
Tailors must meet the turnaround times indicated in the job description or agreed via platform communication.
- Repeated delays may lead to temporary suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
- If delays are unavoidable, Tailors must notify iSeam.uk and the Customer before the due date.
5.3 Communication Protocols
- Tailors must respond to platform messages and order updates within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 24 hours).
- All communication with Customers must be respectful, professional, and only via the platform unless otherwise authorised.
5.4 Job Completion & Photo Upload
- On completion, Tailors must mark the job as “Item Tailored and Shipped Back” and upload:
- Clear photo(s) of the finished work (if required by the job category)
- Courier name and tracking number
- This is essential for Customer satisfaction and protection in case of disputes.
5.5 Handling Job Failures
If a job cannot be completed, Tailors must:
- Set the order status to either:
- “Tailoring Not Completed – Customer Issue”
- “Tailoring Not Completed – Tailor Issue”
- Provide a clear explanation
- Return the Tailoring Item in original or improved condition
Note: Customers are charged a return + admin fee for customer-caused incompletion. Tailor-caused incompletion results in full Customer refund, and Tailors will not be paid for the job.
5.6 Reviews & Ratings
- Customers may leave reviews and rate the service received.
- Consistently low ratings, unresolved complaints, or quality failures may result in:
- Account suspension
- Investigation by iSeam.uk support team
- Permanent removal from the platform
5.7 Quality Audits
iSeam.uk may conduct spot audits of Tailor jobs by:
- Reviewing photos or customer complaints
- Issuing warnings or performance flags
- Offering optional training or coaching (in select regions)
6. Payments, Fees & Commission
6.1 Tailor Earnings
Tailors are paid for each completed job according to the price displayed at the time of job acceptance, minus iSeam.uk’s platform commission.
- The payout is calculated automatically and shown clearly before job confirmation.
- Tailors must not request payment from Customers directly.
6.2 Platform Commission
iSeam.uk applies a fixed or tiered commission (e.g. 15%–30%) on each completed transaction, depending on:
- Tailor tier/status (e.g. new, experienced, verified)
- Job type or complexity
- Geographic location (for tax/regional adjustment)
6.3 Payment Schedule
- Payouts are typically processed within 21 business days after a job is marked as “Item Tailored and Shipped Back”.
- Tailors must ensure that their bank or payment account details are correct in their profile settings.
- iSeam.uk is not liable for delays caused by incorrect payment details or third-party payment processors.
6.4 Payment Method
Tailors can choose their preferred payout method from the available options (e.g. bank transfer, PayPal, etc.), subject to:
- Verification of identity and bank details
- Regional compliance and fees
- Minimum withdrawal threshold (e.g. £10)
6.5 Deductions for Incomplete Jobs
In the event of a failed job:
- Customer-caused issues: Tailor may be paid a partial fee (minus return postage and admin costs).
- Tailor-caused issues: No payment is made, and the Customer receives a full refund. The Tailor covers return shipping.
6.6 Invoicing & VAT
- iSeam.uk generates a digital invoice for each transaction showing gross amount, platform commission, and net payout.
- Tailors are responsible for reporting income and paying applicable taxes (e.g. UK Self Assessment).
- If VAT registered, Tailors must declare VAT obligations independently.
6.7 Refunds & Disputes
If a Customer requests a refund:
- iSeam.uk will investigate the claim using job status logs, uploaded images, and communication history.
- Tailors may be asked to provide additional evidence or clarification.
- Deductions may be made from future payouts if a refund is issued due to Tailor fault.
6.8 Platform Fees
Tailors agree that platform usage may be subject to additional optional or required fees, such as:
- Subscription fees for premium placement or features
- Advertising/promotional upgrades
- Training or certification verification services
All fees will be communicated in advance and are subject to change with prior notice.
7. Dispute Resolution & Liability
7.1 Handling Disputes with Customers
- If a Customer raises a concern or complaint about a completed job, iSeam.uk will first attempt to resolve the matter informally by reviewing:
- Job photos
- Tailor and Customer communications
- Timeline of order updates
- Tailors must cooperate fully and provide any requested evidence (e.g. work-in-progress photos, receipts, explanations).
7.2 Resolution Process
Disputes are typically resolved in the following stages:
- Informal Mediation – iSeam.uk support team contacts both parties and encourages resolution.
- Review by Quality Team – If unresolved, iSeam.uk will issue a final decision based on all available evidence.
- Final Outcome – May include:
- Refund to Customer
- Partial payment to Tailor
- Full payment released to Tailor
- Warning or penalty issued to either party
All decisions made by iSeam.uk during the dispute process are final and binding.
7.3 Liability of Tailors
Tailors are liable for:
- Loss or damage of the Tailoring Item in their possession
- Poor workmanship or failure to follow instructions
- Misuse or unauthorised use of Customer information
- Failing to return the item promptly after job completion or cancellation
iSeam.uk may recover costs or deduct amounts from Tailor payouts to compensate affected Customers if necessary.
7.4 Limitations of iSeam.uk’s Liability
iSeam.uk is not responsible for:
- Items lost or delayed in transit by third-party couriers (after proper handover)
- Measurements, photos, or instructions provided incorrectly by the Customer
- Minor variations in alteration outcome due to fabric or construction limitations
- Any direct business loss incurred by the Tailor (e.g. missed earnings, overhead costs)
7.5 Suspension and Removal
In cases of repeated complaints, misconduct, or breach of these terms, iSeam.uk may:
- Issue formal warnings
- Suspend or deactivate the Tailor’s account
- Withhold or reverse payouts
- Ban the Tailor permanently from the platform
Appeals may be submitted in writing to iSeam.uk for reconsideration, but the platform reserves the right to uphold or reverse any decision at its sole discretion.
8. Data Protection & Confidentiality
8.1 Compliance with Data Protection Laws
Tailors must handle all Customer data in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
8.2 Access to Customer Information
Tailors may only access Customer information (such as names, addresses, garment details, or contact preferences) for the sole purpose of:
- Completing the accepted tailoring job
- Communicating with the Customer via the iSeam.uk platform
- Handling shipping, pickup, or return of Tailoring Items
8.3 Prohibited Use of Data
Tailors must not:
- Store, share, or export Customer data outside the platform for unrelated use
- Contact Customers directly outside the iSeam.uk platform (unless explicitly authorised)
- Use Customer information for marketing, upselling, or personal business activities
Unauthorised use of Customer data may result in immediate account termination and legal action.
8.4 Confidentiality Obligations
Tailors agree to maintain strict confidentiality concerning:
- Customer identity and preferences
- Any personal or sensitive information disclosed during communication or job handling
- Any trade secrets, pricing algorithms, platform logic, or non-public features of iSeam.uk
These obligations continue to apply even after the Tailor’s account is deactivated or terminated.
8.5 Platform Communication Monitoring
iSeam.uk reserves the right to monitor messages exchanged on the platform to:
- Ensure quality control
- Investigate disputes
- Protect users from fraud, abuse, or breaches of terms
Tailors consent to such monitoring under platform usage terms.
8.6 Data Security Measures
Tailors are expected to follow reasonable digital hygiene and security practices, including:
- Keeping login credentials secure and private
- Avoiding use of public or insecure devices for platform access
- Reporting any suspected data breach or unauthorised access immediately to iSeam.uk
9. Intellectual Property & Platform Use
9.1 Platform Ownership
All content, technology, branding, and underlying systems of the iSeam.uk platform—including but not limited to:
- Logos, trademarks, and trade names
- Website design, layout, text, and graphics
- Code, databases, algorithms, and APIs
- Automated workflows, job assignment logic, and order processing
…are the exclusive intellectual property of iSeam.uk Ltd. and are protected under UK and international copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
9.2 Tailor Content & Materials
Tailors may submit or upload content (e.g. photos of completed jobs, profile descriptions, service portfolios) to their Tailor profile.
By submitting such content, Tailors:
- Warrant they own or have rights to the content;
- Grant iSeam.uk a royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use, display, and promote the content in connection with the platform (e.g. marketing, advertising, showcasing services);
- Acknowledge that content may be removed or edited at iSeam.uk’s discretion.
9.3 Restrictions on Platform Use
Tailors must not:
- Reverse engineer, copy, reproduce, or modify the platform or its features
- Develop competing services using iSeam.uk’s platform ideas, workflow, or code
- Exploit any vulnerabilities or attempt to bypass platform controls
- Use bots, automated tools, or scripts to claim jobs or manipulate workflows
- Misrepresent identity, qualifications, or service availability
Violations may lead to legal consequences and immediate termination of platform access.
9.4 Brand & Trademark Use
Tailors may not use the “iSeam.uk” name, logo, or brand assets without prior written consent, except:
- In approved marketing materials clearly indicating their status as “Registered Tailor on iSeam.uk”
- When sharing official badges or widgets provided by the platform
Improper use of brand elements is prohibited and enforceable under IP law.
9.5 Intellectual Property Violations
If a Tailor’s uploaded content infringes on a third party’s intellectual property:
- The Tailor accepts full responsibility and agrees to indemnify iSeam.uk from any resulting claims, damages, or legal expenses
- The offending content will be removed, and repeated violations may result in account termination
10. Account Termination & Suspension
10.1 Voluntary Account Closure by Tailor
Tailors may request to close their account at any time by contacting support or using the designated closure feature (if available in the dashboard). Upon closure:
- All active job assignments must first be completed or properly withdrawn.
- Payouts for completed jobs will be processed per the usual schedule.
- All personal data will be handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
10.2 Suspension or Termination by iSeam.uk
iSeam.uk reserves the right to suspend or terminate a Tailor account, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
- Breach of these Terms and Conditions
- Repeated customer complaints or poor service ratings
- Delays or failure to deliver accepted jobs
- Use of fake or misleading qualifications or identity
- Attempting to manipulate order flow, reviews, or pricing
- Violations of data protection, intellectual property, or legal compliance
- Any conduct that damages the reputation, integrity, or operations of iSeam.uk
10.3 Effects of Termination
If an account is terminated:
- The Tailor will lose access to all active orders, payment records, and platform tools.
- Any remaining balance due for completed jobs will be paid out after resolving outstanding disputes or adjustments.
- Ongoing payouts may be withheld if there are pending complaints, claims, or investigations.
10.4 Temporary Suspensions
In some cases, iSeam.uk may impose a temporary suspension while:
- Investigating disputes or quality issues
- Verifying identity or legal documentation
- Reviewing account behaviour that appears irregular or harmful
During a suspension, the Tailor may not accept new jobs or update order statuses, but communication with support will remain open.
10.5 Appeals and Reinstatement
Tailors who believe their account was suspended or terminated unfairly may submit a written appeal to [email protected] within 14 days of notice.
- Appeals must include relevant explanations, evidence, or acknowledgements.
- iSeam.uk will review all appeals in good faith but reserves the right to uphold or reverse decisions at its sole discretion.
10.6 No Obligation to Reinstate
iSeam.uk is not obligated to reinstate any Tailor once removed. Repeat offenders or serious breaches will result in a permanent ban, and attempts to re-register under a different identity will be blocked.
11. Legal Terms & Jurisdiction
11.1 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes or claims arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11.2 Limitation of Liability
iSeam.uk shall not be held liable for:
- Loss of income, profit, or business opportunities resulting from account suspension or termination
- Tailoring mistakes made by the Tailor or errors due to customer miscommunication
- Delays or damages caused by third-party couriers or logistics partners
- Interruptions due to platform maintenance, upgrades, or technical issues
iSeam.uk’s liability, if any, shall be strictly limited to the amount of commission deducted from the specific job(s) under dispute.
11.3 Disclaimer of Warranty
The iSeam.uk platform is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee:
- Constant availability or uninterrupted service
- That the platform will meet every tailor’s specific needs
- That the matching system will guarantee a specific volume of job assignments
We reserve the right to make changes, updates, or suspend features without prior notice.
11.4 Force Majeure
iSeam.uk shall not be responsible for delays, suspension, or failure to fulfil obligations due to causes beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, pandemics, or extreme weather
- Cyberattacks, platform outages, or power failures
- Strikes, supply chain disruptions, or regulatory changes
11.5 Entire Agreement
These Terms represent the entire agreement between the Tailor and iSeam.uk regarding participation on the platform and supersede all previous agreements or understandings, whether oral or written.
11.6 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
11.7 Waiver
Any failure by iSeam.uk to enforce a provision of these Terms shall not be construed as a waiver of our rights to later enforce that provision or any other provision.
